Today, I share a simple, straight forward Detox Salad that is refreshing, light and clean. It is full of vitamins and minerals to give the body an extra boost. It is also great because leafy greens are diuretic in nature and can help expel added water weight. Greens also help to bring balance to the system by adjusting pH, they also help eliminate any toxins that may be present and are loaded with vitamins that we tend to lack through the winter months.

    Detox Salad Recipe
    - 4 cups any greens or baby lettuce
    - 1/2 cup carrots, shredded
    - 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts
    - 1 c. dandelion greens
-1/4 c. shredded beets, marinated, if desired
    -1/2 apple, shredded
    -1/4 cup walnuts, chopped, optional
    -1/4 c. raisins, optional

    Dressing
    - juice of 1 lemon
    - 1/4 c Stevia, coconut nectar or honey to taste
    - 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, diced
    -1/2 tsp. ginger
-4 drizzles of flax oil or extra virgin olive oil (optional)
-4 drizzles of your apple cider or coconut vinegar
    -1/2 tsp. Bragg’s Kelp seasoning
    -1/4 tsp. turmeric

-salt and pepper, herbs like rosemary, to taste

Arrange the greens on a plate and arrange the carrots, apples and sprouts in circular piles along the top of the plate like a rainbow – I like it all jumbled up but you can make it as you choose. Then, mix the dressing ingredients and drizzle on top.
    Marinated Beets-

    1-1/2 beets
    1/4 onion
1 T apple cider or coconut vinegar (or more to taste, for sweetness)

Use the food processor, mandoline or shredder, or spiralizer to slice the beets and onions to desired shape. Pour into a bowl.
Add apple cider vinegar and mix well. The longer it sits, the softer they’ll be!

Any good raw soup seems to make a good cracker! At least, so far!
    As did this one:

In the food processor or blender:

    1 c. cashews
    3 carrots, chopped in pieces
    1 yellow squash
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp. coconut oil
    1/4 c. Bragg’s amino acids (not raw)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. seaweed
    1/4 tsp. ginger
about 12 ou. water, adding until it becomes a smooth batter.
Pour onto dehydrator sheets and score into cracker shapes. Dehydrate at 104 degrees for 24-48 hours until crispy.

Cosmetic use of carrot seed oil stimulate cell growth

Carrot seed oil is one of the most rejuvenating and regenerating oils that can be used in skincare and helps to improve the complexion, as it helps to remove toxic build-up in the skin and eliminates excess water from the tissue.

Pure carrot seed oil is an expensive ingredient that is mostly found in an adulterated form, where it is mixed with other carrier oils to make it a more affordable ingredient.

We only use pure carrot seed oil in our products, as we are of the opinion that the cost effect of it is balanced by its amazing effects it has on the skin.

There is a difference between carrot seed oil and carrot oil – carrot seed oil is made by extracting the oil from the seeds of the carrot, whereas carrot oil is made by infusing carrot flesh into an oil, leaving it for some time and then filtering out the oil.

Compounds found in carrot seed oil stimulate cell growth

It is rich in beta-carotene as well as vitamins B, C, D and E and is most useful as a skin rejuvenator and extremely effective for dry and aging skin. It further contains daucol, alpha-pinene, geraniol and geranyl acetate.

The main chemical properties of carrot seed oil are acetic, pinene, carotol, asorone, limonene and bisabolene.

It improves the complexion of the skin, due to its strengthening effect on red blood cells, while toning the skin and increasing elasticity and firmness.

    • Carrot seed oil, with its earthy smell and myriad uses, is one ingredient you may be able to use to add fragrance to lotions or even to counteract signs of aging (from wrinkles to age spots). Massaging this oil onto your skin and scalp can relax you, decrease stress and even help treat psoriasis and eczema. As with any herbal remedy, consult your doctor before using carrot seed oil, particularly if you’re pregnant, nursing a baby, or using the oil on a child.

    Difficulty: Easy
    Instructions

    Things You’ll Need:

    • Almond oil
    • Geranium essential oil
    • Jojoba oil
    • Aloe vera gel
    1. Step 1

Mix carrot seed essential oil (15 drops) with 2 tbsp. almond oil; smooth onto skin to moisturize and remove makeup. Add other essential oils (e.g., geranium essential oil) for an added fragrance.

    2. Step 2

Combine 3 drops of carrot seed essential oil with 3/4 tsp. jojoba oil and 2 tbsp. aloe vera gel for a facial moisturizer. Shake well before every use.

    3. Step 3

Smooth carrot seed oil onto skin to add elasticity and to fight wrinkles on your face.

    4. Step 4

Apply carrot seed oil to your scalp and massage into your hair to help stop psoriasis, as well as to relieve stress.

    5. Step 5

Massage carrot seed oil onto your hands to help lighten and prevent age spots, and apply anywhere on your skin where eczema is a problem.

    6. Step 6

Ask your doctor before attempting to use carrot seed oil as a muscle relaxant or a liver and kidney detoxifier, which are uses that need more medical study in humans before being deemed safe.

    carrotjuice 002

The cayenne and garlic clears your sinuses, the garlic boosts your immune system, the carrots clear your eyes and the celery cools your system with alkalinity. The apple sweetens the taste!

    Juice:

    2 carrots

    1 stalk celery

    1 apple

    1/4″ slice ginger

    1 clove garlic

    1/4 tsp. cayenne

Add 1/2 c. water or rejuvelac to take away some of the strength, if desired. Easier on your stomach for those with digestive problems.

Drink right away or chill for a great summer beverage.
