    Another great tip from Patsy-

“I have another tip if you’d like:

I use the Himalayan Pink salt sole` water in a pump sprayer for salting my sprouted seeds and nuts
( the ones I want salty ) before dehydrating them. It works great. I just put them on
the trays and spray them then wipe the edges of the tray. I even spray the sprouted buckwheat.
I could never get the salt just right when I add it to the soaking water and I can’t use the Braggs
Aminos because I’m sensitive to the natural MSG in it.

Have a great day and thanks again for your help and for getting me started making KT.”

Soaking Your Nuts, Grains, Seeds And Legumes
Nature has set it up so that the nut, grain and seed may survive until proper growing conditions are present. Nature’s defense mechanism includes nutritional inhibitors and toxic substances that can be removed naturally when there is enough precipitation to sustain a new plant after the nut, grain or seed germinates. When it rains the nut, grain or seed gets wet and can then germinate to produce a plant. So we are mimicking nature when we soak our nuts, grains and seeds.

    Raw Vegan Ice-Dream ~ 3 Flavours
Mmmm… summer is over and we’re into Autumn but there is still time to enjoy a yummy ice-dream… in fact, we enjoy ice-dream all year around! Who needs summer as an excuse?

    Easy Cleaning
When using your juicer or blender, always clean straight after use. This way nothing gets a chance to dry on and it’s almost a matter of rinsing your blender or juicer.

However if you forget, as sometimes happens to the very best of us, soaking is your answer. For juicer parts warm water and a good soak for 10-15 minutes should be enough. After that you should be able to scrub your juicer clean as per normal!

If you have left your blender overnight and have a dried sauce all around the sides you can fill the jug with warm water and a small amount of environmentally friendly detergent. Allow to soak for 10 minutes and then turn it on. After that a good wipe with a cloth will help to remove any residue that is left.

The health benefits of Brazil nuts:

Brazil nuts are one of the riches sources of selenium, containing as much as 1180% of USRDA. Brazil nuts are also high in magnesium and thiamine. Research suggests that eating Brazil nuts can lower your risk of breast cancer and prostate cancer.

The nutritional composition of a Brazil nut it 18% protein, 13% carbohydrates, and 69% fat. The fat is 25% saturated, 41% monounsaturated, and 34% polyunsaturated. Brazil nuts contain the highest amounts of saturated fat than any other nut, but don’t let that scare you off. Saturated fats are good for the body when they come from organic foods. This is why I love to use Brazil nuts in raw nut milks and ice creams because the fat adds extra creaminess.

NUTRITION: Nuts and seeds are exceedingly nutritious! They are all excellent sources of vitamins, especially E, and minerals, especially these: calcium, iron, phosphorous, potassium, and magnesium. And in the plant kingdom and in our diets, nuts and seeds are the very best sources of high-concentrations of protein – and of essential fatty acids, since they are about 60% fat. Nuts and seeds are the “meat” of The Natural  Diet: their protein compares favorably with animal meats, but nut protein is more digestible, especially when sprouted All nuts are a healthy source of poly-unsaturated fats and mono-unsaturated fats, which do not result in an increase of blood cholesterol levels upon consumption, as do food items made from animals. Some of the nuts have small amounts of saturated fats, such as the Brazil nut. The exception is the coconut, which does have a relatively high proportion of saturated fats.

STORAGE : Nuts in the shell will keep for several months if stored in a cool, dry place. Outside the shell, it is best to store them in the refrigerator. Most nuts and seeds will keep 1 to 2 months that way. But eventually, the oils in nuts and seeds go rancid; and you can tell by how “off” they taste.

NUT/SEED MILKS & THEIR VARIATIONS: All the nuts/seeds can yield a very tasty nut milk that can be made in the blender.
