Vanilla Fudge – Covered Cherries – White Chocolate
    on youtube -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA3aX3CFhJg

    Over a double boiler, melt:
    2 C. cacao butter
    3/4 c. raw honey
2 c. cashew or macadamia nut butter
Mix by hand. Or put in a personal blender with
4 T. mesquite or lucuma powder
2 pinches vanilla powder or extract.
    Add:
4 T. goji berries, if desired
    4 pinches orange peel
    6 T. cacao nibs.
Take a fudge brownie pan, or ice cube trays and oil with olive oil. Olive oil makes the best coating to be able to get the fudge out without sticking. Put a cherry in each ice cube section, or stir them into the batter.
Freeze for 10 or more minutes! Delicious!

Recipe – Lucuma White Chocolate Candies

The maca may also be substituted with mesquite powder for equally exciting results.
    Ingredients
1 cup Navitas Naturals Cacao Butter – Shaved
6 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Lucuma Powder
3/4 tsp Navitas Naturals Maca Powder
    ¾ tsp vanilla powder
    2 pinches of sea salt
    1½ tsp maple sugar (optional)
    Directions

In a double boiler, gently melt the cacao butter into a liquid. Transfer to a cold bowl, and quickly whisk in the lucuma powder, maca, vanilla, salt, and sugar. Pour liquid into candy molds or an ice cube tray, and freeze for thirty minutes or longer. When candies are solid, pop out of the tray and store in a cool environment. (Candies will stay solid at room temperature, but will begin to soften in the heat or in direct sunlight).

    White Kiawe Honey of Hawai’i
    Prosopis pallida

    http://www.slowfoodusa.org/index.php/programs/ark_product_detail/kiawe_honey/

Kiawe honey comes exclusively from the flowers of the Kiawe tree, a type of mesquite, that grow in the arid, volcanic lava environment of the leeward side of Hawai’i. It is believed that kiawe trees, the Hawaiian word for mesquite pronounced “kee ah’ vay”, were first brought to Hawai’i around 1828 by Father Bachelot, the first Catholic missionary to arrive on the Big Island. From a single tree, it eventually spread to over 150,00 acres, becoming the principle shade tree of Honolulu. Its seed pods became an important source of fodder for cattle. The honeybee was introduced in 1860.

While the species Prosopis pallida is native to Central and South America and is considered a non-native naturalized plant. It is categorized as “invasive” on many pacific islands, according to information on the Pacific Island Ecosystems at Risk website, it is not listed in the “risk” category for Hawai’i. Indeed, the intrinsic value of the Kiawe or mesquite tree, may soon be rediscovered, for it is saltwater tolerant and can play an important roll in controlling desertification which is a growing problem worldwide. As a prolific source of honey, mesquite flour, and fuel wood, the mesquite tree also provides value-added products for cottage industries in the semi-arid countries where it grows. The tree is particularly well suited to Hawai’i’s arid environment and rocky, volcanic soil. Although it has been termed an invasive species, Kiawe trees do not pose a major threat because their growth is limited to certain coastal climates and cannot grow above certain elevations.

Kiawe honey comes from a single stand of trees that beekeepers have been working with for over one hundred years. The grove is unique because it is an isolated oasis of trees situated on an aquifer that allows the trees to grow to an enormous size. While mesquite trees typically grow to twenty feet, the trees from which this Kiawe honey is made can reach heights of sixty feet or more.

The honey produced in this 1,000-acre kiawe forest is ninety-nine percent pure mono-flower. It must be harvested in a very specific way in order for the product to maintain its integrity. First, the combs are hand picked one at a time. This must be done at exactly the right point in the season. If the beekeeper harvests too early, before it is ripe, the honey will ferment, and if harvested too late, it will crystallize (solidify) in the wax comb, requiring heat to melt the comb to extract the honey. Applying heat would radically alter the naturally exquisite taste, texture, color and nutritional qualities of this rare and delicate honey. Perfect Kiawe honey is pearly-white with a waxy, caramel-like consistency and an unusual menthol flavor unlike any other honey.

Like any product that has only one site of production, Kiawe honey is at high risk. Richard Spiegel of Volcano Island Honey Company is currently the only beekeeper on the island who has the skills required to ensure that his bees only harvest nectar from Kiawe trees. Without his expertise, the art of Kiawe honey production would be lost. The stand of trees from which the honey is produced is also threatened. Recently, a fire burned down half of the forest, greatly reducing its productive capacity. Yet, perhaps the greatest threat to the forest is an existing golf-course permit for area that may be implemented in the near future. Richard is considering retirement and is trying to find a conservation organization or land trust to preserve this unique forest and its honey in perpetuity.

This population of Hawaiian bees may be critical in the fight against the Varroa might because the mite has not yet appeared on the Big Island of Hawai’i, although they are present on Oahu. Queen bees from the island may be needed to restock populations elsewhere that have been decimated by the mite.

This week I’m celebrating my chakras by concentrating on the color for the chakras, as the basis for the food I eat!I eat other stuff, too, but this is the basis for the diet for the next 7 days. There is a color for each chakra, a color that resonates (vibrates) at the same level as the organ it is associated with.
So today is the base chakra – red being the color. For red I had :
    watermelon green juice
    cherries
    goji berries
    strawberry chia jam on celery
    radishes and tomatoes
    red tea, cinnamon apple tea
    watermelon
    sundried tomato crackers
    cranberry apple juice
tomatoes and sprouts on sundried tomato crackers
    2 qts. water
Other things you could have: tomato juice, marinara sauce on zucchini pasta, strawberries, raspberries, raw thousand island dressing with raw veges, raw ketchup on greens or red bell peppers, with paprika, cherry nut/seed yogurt,
    Red Red Fruits and Vegetables
Contain nutrients such as lycopene, ellagic acid, Quercetin, and Hesperidin, to name a few. These nutrients reduce the risk of prostate cancer, lower blood pressure, reduce tumor growth and LDL cholesterol levels, scavenge harmful free-radicals, and support join tissue in arthritis cases.

    http://www.examiner.com/meditation-in-tampa-bay/chakras-and-meditation

The first chakra is known as the Root (Muladhdara). This chakra is where we ground ourselves. It relates to our sense of body, some of our sexual organs and our lower digestive system. Emotionally this chakra is connected to family, both the family we were born into and the family we raise.

    ***********************************************************
    **********************************************************
    Day 2 – Orange – the 2nd chakra
Today I’m celebrating the 2nd chakra, which resonates the same as the color orange. So all day, when I eat orange I think of my 2nd chakra and spin it with tai chi breathing, to strentghen and illuminate that chakra. This area in tai chi is known as the Tan Tien – the area of power, where we hold our chi, circulate it to other areas, where we mix the water of the kidney with the heat from the solar plexus!
    2nd Chakra -http://www.nothingbutyoga.com/2nd-chakra.html

The Sanskrit name for the 2nd chakra is “Svadhisthana.” This word means “dwelling place of the Self.”

The 2nd chakra is located in the lower abdomen, about an inch below the navel.

The 2nd chakra is associated with creativity and procreation. It also governs emotional and sensual aspects of our lives.

The emotion associated with the 2nd chakra is passion. If you grew up in an environment where emotions were repressed or denied, this chakra may be deficient. Some signs of deficiency are fear of pleasure, being out of touch with one’s feelings and resistance to change.

Signs of an excessive 2nd chakra may be overly emotional behavior, sexual addiction or poor boundaries. Excessiveness can be caused by living in an environment where there is a constant need for pleasurable stimulation, such as entertaining or partying. Frequent emotional drama can cause excessiveness also.

The organs/glands/parts of the body associated with this chakra are:

    * Reproductive organs
    * All liquids in the body – the circulation of blood, urine, menstruation, tears
    * Hips, sacrum, low back
    * Kidneys

The element for the 2nd chakra is water, thus the association with the liquids of the body. Water flows, moves and changes. A balanced 2nd chakra allows us to do that also.

The color for the 2nd chakra is orange. Orange is a very stimulating color because of its vibrational energy.

The sense for the 2nd chakra is taste, especially a sweet taste.

The foods for the 2nd chakra are orange foods, sweet foods and liquids.

In yoga, backward and forward bends and squatting strengthen the 2nd chakra.
Here is the orange list of raw foods:
    Orange
    Apricots
    Butternut squash
    Cantaloupe
    Cape Gooseberries
    Carrots
    Mangoes
    Nectarines
    Oranges
    Papayas
    Peaches
    Persimmons
    Pineapples
    Pumpkin
    Rutabagas
    Sweet potatoes
    Tangerines
    Orange squash

Day 3 – Yellow – the third chakra

    http://www.essortment.com/all/thirdchakra_renv.htm

    Third chakra
A well-developed third chakra empowers us to live our best lives, reduce inertia and take action toward our goals. It is our storage battery for personal strength.

Located at the base of the sternum, this center in our chakra system resonates with integrity, self-discipline, and personal strength. It helps us overcome inertia. It functions as our “storage battery” for the strength we need to get through tough times without compromising our values.

A strongly developed third chakra allows us to free ourselves from a sheep-like submission to authority, and gives us the courage to follow our intuition without fearing for our own safety. With a well developed center of personal power, we know we are strong enough to take care of ourselves.

We damage our third chakra when we smolder with repressed anger, go along with a crowd when it violates our sense of integrity, criticize others, refuse to admit when we are wrong, and wish our lives were different without taking any action to change circumstances.

An underdeveloped chakra will show up in poor self-esteem, a tendency to lie, inertia in the face of situations that call for action, staying in unhealthy relationships, and living in fear of life in general.

Persons with overactive third chakras live their lives on a power trip, trying to control everyone and everything around them. They have no patience; manipulation and pushiness define their way of reaching their goals. Often hard-headed and grumpy, they cling to the way things “have always been done,” and rarely co-operate with anyone.

Malfunctioning third chakras might manifest physically as mid-body obesity, intestinal disorders, or liver problems.

Nurturing the third chakra means, first of all, to acknowledge that we do have the quality of will; we were born onto the path of a personal pilgrimage that no one else can take for us. We need focused, directed energy to proceed. It means taking the emotional steps to grow from childhood into adulthood, not necessarily giving up our dreams, but taking the action to make them come true.

We can take steps on the emotional, physical, spiritual or mental planes to bring this power center into productive alignment.

We can pick one aspect (choose the easiest for you, whatever that might be) and begin there to develop an “electric personality.” Here are some common associations with third chakra energy, with some suggestions for using them:

ELEMENT: FIRE. Burn candles frequently, use them for meditation or scenting your home. Build a bonfire. Write the names of people against whom you hold grudges on slips of paper; burn the papers in a ceremony. Focus on the power of fire to destroy and to strengthen, as in tempering steel.

COLOR: YELLOW. Wear yellow clothing. Use yellow flowers in your home, or a yellow tablecloth. Put pieces of yellow ribbon inconspicuously where they can remind you of your focus.

EXERCISE: Sit-ups, to strengthen the muscles surrounding the third chakra. Running, to get all the energy moving rapidly and your heart pumping energy. Power walk. Laugh, a lot, deep belly laughs. That helps release pent up frustration and resentment. Do something different from your usual habit.

INCENSE FOR BURNING: Carnation, cinnamon, marigold.
What I’m having today: lemon water, pineapple green smoothie, dehydrated onion rings, lemon cashew raw cheesecake,
sprouts, lemon kombucha, lemon salad dressing on salad with yellow apples, yellow bell/flax/almond crackers
    Yellow/Orange
    yellow onions
    Golden kiwifruit
    Grapefruit
    Lemon
    Pineapples
    Sweet corn
    Yellow apples
    Yellow beets
    Yellow figs
    Yellow pears
    Yellow peppers
    Yellow potatoes
    Yellow summer squash
    Yellow tomatoes
    Yellow watermelon
    Yellow winter squash

This Chakra opens as we are able to see beyond ourselves and become of service to others through “self-centered selflessness.” Vocational thinking tells us that we are here to be of use, not to use others or to be used by others.

Blocks in this Chakra will affect the upper back, arms, heart and lungs.

Heavy heartedness, grief, pain, and anger can live here.

    Day 5 -5th Chakra – Blue -

    http://healing.about.com/cs/chakras/a/chakra5.htm

The Throat Chakra is associated with the color sky blue. This chakra is our will center. The healthfulness of the fifth chakra is in relation to how honestly one expresses himself/herself. Lying violates the body and spirit . We speak our choices with our voices (throats). All choices we make in our lives have consequences on an energetic level. Even choosing not to make a choice such as in repressing our anger (not speaking out) may manifest into laryngitis. We have all experienced that “lump in our throats” when we are at a crossroad of not knowing how to speak the right words in any given situation, perhaps even stuffing our own emotions. A challenge of the throat chakra is to express ourselves in the most truthful manner. Also to receive and assimilate information. Seek only the truth.

Day 6 – the 6th chakra – Indigo or Jasmine
    6th Chakra -http://www.nothingbutyoga.com/6th-chakra.html

“Ajna” is the Sanskrit word for the 6th chakra. It means “beyond wisdom.” It has also been translated to mean “the perception center.”

The 6th chakra is located between, and just above, the eyes. It is often referred to as the “third eye.” This chakra deals with visualization, intuition, imagination and telepathy.

Organ/parts of body associated with the 6th chakra:

    * Pituitary gland, eyes, head, lower brain

The emotion for the 6th chakra is “knowing”, an intuitive type of knowing. When this chakra is dominant, one may have clairvoyant abilities…being able to see things that others can’t.

The color is purple/violet, both spiritual colors.

When the energy in the 6th chakra is excessive, it can cause headaches, hallucinations, nightmares and difficulty in concentrating.

But when the energy is deficient, there may be eye problems, poor memory, inability to visualize.

Yoga poses for the 6th chakra are supported forward bends and also eye exercises. Doing positive visualizations can also strengthen this chakra.

    The 7th chakra – white!

    http://www.nothingbutyoga.com/7th-chakra.html

The Sanskrit name for the 7th chakra is “Sahasrara”, meaning “thousandfold.” The 7th chakra is represented by a 1000-petaled lotus, which symbolizes the infinite nature of this chakra, connecting us with the Divine.

The 7th chakra is located at the crown of the head and serves as the crown of the entire chakra system, symbolizing the highest state of enlightenment. The function of the 7th chakra is connection with the infinite. In art, Christ is depicted with a halo around his head. This could represent the awakened spirituality of the 7th chakra.

The element of the 7th chakra is thought/cosmic consciousness. The mind creates our belief systems that control our thoughts and actions.

Gland/part of body associated with the 7th chakra:

    * Pineal gland, upper brain

The 7th chakra is sometimes associated with the color violet, but it is usually referred to as the color white, a combination of all colors. This is in line with the chakra also being a culmination of all the other chakras.

Excessiveness in the 7th chakra appears as being overly intellectual.

Deficient energy manifests as difficulty thinking for yourself, apathy, spiritual skepticism and materialism.

Meditation is the yogic practice best for the 7th chakra. Meditation clears and quiets the mind, in preparation for experiencing the Divine.
